What is a better race to enter a medical transcriptionist or a medical coder?
I wonder what are the pros and cons of both races. Which is more difficult, more stressful, you can get your foot in the door faster, which one is in more demand? paid more? so we can do, both from home? I'm trying to decide which field to enter.
I can not give both sides .. only, medical transcription. Maybe have someone who has done so much. I was a medical transcriptionist who works from home for 13 years. Many transcriptionists get their training from a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health-related fields. You should get the terminology below, then get started. Many companies want experience so there's a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals can recruit, and after a while you can work from home as many transcriptionists do.
