Printing on paper has been one of the primary tasks of the computer. A paper copy of, for example, documents or photographs is essentially more functional than softcopy counterparts. Although computer technology has evolved considerably since its infancy, the printer did not suffer much.
Printing from of typewriters
The first computer printers evolved from manual typewriters. Stamps typewriter characters in the role of metal hammers hitting an inked ribbon placed before the paper. These hammers contain the letters molded, numbers, punctuation marks and others. Finally, the type of manual was replaced by electric typewriters. Electric typewriters are printed on paper much faster because it uses a single mechanism element - a ball or daisy wheel cylinder - where the characters are molded. The element moves along the document, and not vice versa. The first printers are derived from this mechanism, only that the team runs the machine instead of human fingers.
Line by line
As computers became more and more, the first types of printers could not keep up. The line printer was developed, which prints and the whole line at a time instead of one of its predecessor character at a time. What makes printing much faster this time is the mechanism - consisting of drums, bars or trains - that hit the tape almost all together, so the whole line is printed on paper, in a move. Line printers are still in use today. Much of the invoices or receipts will more likely printed with this technology yet. They are also, incidentally, between the end print characters of type impact printer - on paper through a mechanism strike.
Make the most of the matrix
Since the miniaturization of computers, peripherals also need to adapt their small size. Printing does not have to be very fast all the time, but must also be low cost and highly functional - like matrix printer. A matrix printer uses a dot pattern is in the print head, which slides smoothly through each line of print characters on paper. The Inkjet out

Inkjet printers work by expulsion of small bubbles of ink into the paper, it dries instantly on hitting the surface. One of the most common methods of removal of thermal ink where the ink is rapidly heated to produce a steam bubble.
Recently, laser
A laser printer works by using a pattern of dots. This time, however, points are much more consistent and accurate than its predecessors. Printing, since the dawn of laser printers, became faster, more precise and indelible. Good desktop laser printers can print characters that even increasing, there are visible dots of ink. The disadvantage of laser print quality is cost. Color laser printers, although surprising reproduction of the photographs, much higher cost than most of its peers.
