On the laminate floor ventilation?
I am installing a floating laminate floor with a layer of foam together in our bedroom. When I removed the carpet, I found a floor ventilation (approximately 10 "x 4"), which was covered by it, to cover the 1970's Register brown. Be that our CA system was renewed before he bought the house (now there are vents in the ceiling) and I have not felt heat or cold from this opening, since it has been open. Is it safe to recover with the laminate? If so, what is the best way to do this?
If no air flow through of the vent cover with a piece of plywood. Cut the wood the size of the opening. Cut 2 pieces of 1x2 wood table and although the hole and keep it screw on top. Place each piece on both ends and then connect the piece of plywood over the opening and tighten the screws to the 1x2. Caulk around the edges and soft. Now you're ready to bring its ground floor.
