Laminating documents with a pouch laminator is simple. Just put the paper in the bag, run through the mill and let cool. It should be easy. However, in order to achieve the best results you must select the appropriate rolling stock to their work. This article is designed to offer some tips for help you choose the right laminating pouch for your job. Here are five things to consider.
1. Size: The first step in the choice of rolling stock correct for your document is to choose the correct size of laminating pouch. When choosing the size of the rolling stock for their work is important to remember that bag should be slightly larger than the document you need to laminate. This allows the bag to seal rolling herself around the edges of the document in which moisture-tight seal. The size of the border around your document is really a matter of preference but a good guide is to stop ¼ "around the four parts of the document to allow a good seal. If you are choosing a bag with a pre-punched slot is important to remember to allocate more space on the side of the slot so that the document does not cover the hole.
2. Thickness: After selecting the correct size laminating pouch for your project the following step is to choose the right thickness of laminating pouch. These bags are available in four thicknesses Primary 3mil, 5mil, 7mil and 10mil. Because the bags have a front and a flap, it is important to remember that a bag of 3mil really provides a 6 mil laminate and a 10mil pouch actually provides a laminate 20mil. Since not all rolling stock are able to 7mil and 10mil laminating pouches, it is important to check what stock thicknesses are compatible with your laminator. If you have a rolling mill capable of four common thicknesses then you need to select the thickness depending on the amount of rigidity and protection they need. In general, the more the document will be handled and stiffer than need be, the bulk of the bags should be.
3. Finish: Most laminated bags available in the market have a glossy finish on both sides. However, there are a number of other finishes available for special needs. For example, laminated bags are available with a matte finish writing in one or both sides with a peel and stick backing, or with a base color. Depending on your project for these unique finishes can be ideal for your project.
4. Quality: Not all rolling stock are the same quality or consisting of the same materials. Depending on the ratio of plastic adhesive to the quality of laminated bags can vary greatly. For this reason, cheaper rolling bags are not always the best buy. In fact, often more costly raw mill bags are much better quality than generic bags.
5. Other features: In addition to size, thickness, finish and quality, there are a couple of other things to remember when the choice of rolling stock. First, remember that most of the rolling stock has slightly rounded corners. These rounded corners to give your documents a more finished, no clipping. Furthermore, the rolling bags are always sealed on one side and open at three. For larger bags can sometimes be easier to use bags that are sealed on the long side as it makes it easier to align your documents.
