You can often hear the phrase "we are what we eat" and there is obviously some truth in that, we are constantly reminded by the media and the government to eat healthily. However, what we think is more important and, in particular, that inner critical voice we hear all day. Our inner voice or supports us and makes us feel good or undermines our self-esteem and self-esteem that causes us to feel down. With this in mind, I have included in this article a common logical error called labeling, which can make anyone feel bad. The simple truth is "You are what you think!"
These day we are more aware of the brand than ever before. Not everyone can wear designer clothes or driving expensive cars, or designer foods, but we are all aware of the brands and labels. We conscious and unconscious judgments of people, their identity and status on the basis of the elements they use. Accordingly, we will then make judgments and evaluations about our own identity and self esteem.
We also may label others and ourselves for the traits, behaviors and actions. Instead of looking the whole person and all its good and bad points, a specific assessment given to all his being. For example, "He did something stupid, that's stupid." "He broke a plate, so she is clumsy. It is more useful to recognize when we and others have done something wrong or has committed a specific error. For example, "that was a stupid mistake" that did not sit well, "then we can distinguish between action and the whole person.
Labeling people makes it harder to get along with others and the causes of hostility if we see them as a dimension, such as "that guy is an idiot", "She is an idiot. "I once worked at a company in one of the IT staff made a mistake that caused the crash of the network temporarily, soon became known as" Titi " (Sex - The IT idiot). Needless to say, this was very disturbing for the person in question - who left shortly after. Labeling is more than insults, it is the mud sticking.
When directed at ourselves labeling can cause lowered self-esteem, guilt, self-loathing and depression. Often labels will acquire negative in childhood and early relationships, it is important to challenge and solve them rather than continuing to use them inside.
A useful exercise is to monitor your inner critic, that voice is heard during the day that says things like "I'm not smart enough", "I'm boring and uninteresting" "I'm too old" "I'm unattractive." Write these comments below and then dispute, challenge and replace them with more statements useful and rational, like "I learned a lot and still learning," "I'm as interesting as anyone, I have my own style", "Age is irrelevant, "" I'm as attractive as anyone. "This takes a little effort, but" it deserves. "You feel better about yourself, esteem and discard unwanted mental baggage.
Choose labels carefully!
