In the line of the HP LaserJet 1100xi, and the original HP LaserJet 1000, stands as a great improvement over its predecessors, and a speedy device for its price range. High quality resolution and fast processing speed make this unique printer combination worth checking out, but especially notable is the 1200's optional hardware accessory that converts it into a three in one unit.
Though the HP LaserJet 1200 is exclusively a monochrome device, its resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch is notable and, while not ideal for photographs, should prove to be effective in producing crystal clear graphs and charts. Its speed also helps it stand out among personal laser devices; clocking in at an advertised 15 pages per minute maximum.
With both USB and Parallel ports incorporated into the unit, the HP LaserJet 1200 can function on both Mac OS and Windows based PCs. It does sit with a curiously large footprint of 16.3 inches by a whopping 19.2 inches, but this is mostly due to the strange, duckbill looking paper tray that protrudes from the device. Its height is quite admirable, barely squeezing in under 9.9 inches, and its weight of 18.3 pounds is at least decent considering the hardware specifications.
