Double your money as Sears gift shop six months earlier.
How desperate are things gonna get to retailers in the country? Waaayyy desperate.
We know that the early optimistic reports on consumer confidence were very far brand. Rather than increasing Nice that suggested, or even just a modest, Run Flat, we have seen a drop from 54.8 in May to 49.3 in June. This is a major setback beyond the net loss of 5.5 points and moving the index back into negative zone below 50 (in which consumers think that things are bad smell).
Personally, I've always been rather suspect that the May reading, like most of the raw data that the Board considers alleged that the conference was absolutely terrible, and yet managed to gin a positive report that flew in the face of all evidence - and more meaningless common.
Import, even more, I saw that the professionals - the big teams and funds that move the market - do not buy either. The sale of the signal was clear as day on the lists, so I told my readers to short the hell when all that optimism misplaced.
An easy target
In early June, Sears (SHLD: NYSE) was in a bit of a tear, having put on about 44 points since its most under 26.80 dollars in November 2008. Selling the same signal that is displayed in retail stocks in general are shown in Table SHLD spades. This would be like shooting the ducks in a barrel. (Or something like that. Not that I never shoot ducks in captivity - it would be wrong.)
From that moment of optimism misplaced vertiginous, SHLD shares have fallen 25%, and the options recommended have won more than 34%. But I really do not think that this term is more, in any form or way.
There are, of course, all the economic outgoing Justice and I have been discussing for the past few weeks. And the lists for both retailers and SHLD keep looking downright miserable, indicating that in my eyes on Wall Street knows the both the industry and the company are the losers.
A best disturbing
But beyond all that, I have an infallible sign that tells me that Sears is screwed. But I must warn you, is so disgusting that you can turn your stomach.

They call it Christmas in July. And if you can stand the incessant, saccharin, synthesized music holiday hijack your PC (I could not turn it off without shutting down my computer laptop), and the mysterious snow-covered landscape of cartoons, may find that Sears is now offering deep discounts and free shipping to anyone who wants "for God's sake buy something NOW - Please!"
Better yet, do not actually buy something. Just give them money, put on layaway, and ride horses up your stuff in December. If you do not go bankrupt first.
Did the bankruptcy? Oh yeah! Remember the last time someone promised Christmas in July? It was GM, which later lent billions of Washington before closing long-time dealers, avoiding debt, screw the shareholders and declared bankrupt. I imagine that places will be good for at least a double.
A gift she can use
