What to do with a drunken employee out of service?
I met my manager PP in a bar, was disgracefully drunk, not offencive or anything, but hot and sweaty. Basically, he was walking in a coma and stinking of at least 2 feet away. The waiter ended by saying that this man has been doing this for 3 nights / wk. in the last 2 years. I worked with this type of 3 years and always arrive on time, clean and neat and he does his job decently. Should I say / do something or should I let it go as it has been? On the one hand, sounds like a serious problem, but on the other hand, if it has not affected his work during the past 3 years, and perhaps there is nothing to fix. What would you do?
hear is .... a good worker? is what we turn to time and work all the day? Do they take many sick days? is what most of directing their holiday allowance? is it offencive or violent? is what causes any discomfort IOF staff? There is no reason to fire him unless any of the above questions are. Purley If you were to fire him for being "off duty and drunk" that could seek the help of employment law and sue. and would be well within their rights. PPL do what the job is outside of their own business unless it affects the work they do when are on duty.
